About the artist

Meet Sneha

It's always utter pundemonium at Lia Mayu Designs! Artist Sneha designs cute and punny food and animal art and hand-makes all of her own stickers, mugs, journals, and greeting cards out of her home. She has made and sold more than 9000 stickers since starting her business in 2023 to fulfill a two-decade-old childhood dream of starting a punny art empire. When she's not doodling corny jokes, she's probably busy spoiling her two cats, the business's namesake, Lia and Mayu.

The process: step one

The puns

Sometimes, puns just come to me, but if I’m intentionally designing a series, I do word association exercises like this. I go through TONS of terrible ideas in order to find a few good ones.

The process: step two

The illustrations

I create vector art, which is a style of digital art that involves shape manipulation. I design everything in PowerPoint using “edit shape” mode. A single design could have anywhere from 7 to 100+ components!

The manufacturing

I have a suite of 14 (and counting!) specialized tools/machines in my guest bedroom that let me print, cut, heat, and press everything you see here. I buy my raw supplies from local businesses whenever possible.
